'WholeFoodLane started with a humble vision: to introduce true Neapolitan pizza to Chicago. The Rossi family opened our doors in 1985 as a quaint, locally-owned restaurant steeped in family traditions.

Marco Rossi, the original founder, mastered the craft of pizza-making in her Italian journey, learning from esteemed pizzaiolos in Naples, the cradle of pizza. She came back to the UK with a mission to replicate the experience of authentic Italian pizza, utilizing age-old techniques and unparalleled ingredients.

Our once small 12-seat venue has expanded into a cherished neighborhood fixture, yet our devotion to excellence and originality remains firm. We continue to employ traditional wood-fired ovens, prepare our dough from scratch each day, and choose only the most superior ingredients available.

'WholeFoodLane is still operated by the Rossi family with the second generation at the helm, leading a team filled with enthusiasm. Although we've adopted modern conveniences, at our core, we stay true to our foundations: crafting delectable, authentic pizza that unites people.
